Topic: Some people think that cities should preserve old buildings. Others think that cities should tear down all buildings and construct new ones in their place. Which do you prefer and why?
In my opinion, cities should preserve old buildings because of two reasons.
Firstly, old buildings, especially those in historical places, are precious heritage of out ancestors. So we have duties to protect them carefully. In fact, we are able to build many modern buildings, but we are unable to reconstruct an old house 300 years old.
Secondly, we can develop successfully a tourist sector with various traditional customs. We can get a large amount of money from this business activity. For example, in Hue, an ancient capital of Viet Nam, local people benefit many advantages from old Buddhist temples, which always attract a lot of foreign tourists by their beauty and cultural values.
